NOW AVAILABLE: Two Advanced Learning Resource Guides on Climate Change Science

The UN CC:Learn Secretariat has launched two Resource Guides for those interested in gaining a more advanced understanding of the science of climate change. This material complements the UN CC:Learn e-course on the Basics of Climate Change.

The two guides, which were developed with technical advice from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), provide a tour of the best and most relevant resources on climate change science, mostly drawn from within the UN System. Target groups  include:

Resource Guide for
Advanced Learning
on the Fundamentals
of Climate Change
Science
Resource Guide
for Advanced
Learning on
Predicting and
Projecting Climate
Change

Decision makers;

  • Technical level officials at national and local goverment levels;
  • NGOs involved in the development and implementation of climatological programmes;
  • Project and programme managers; and
  • Interested citizens/students/youth.

The guides are organized into three parts. Part I provides basic orientation for readers, including a brief introduction to the subject area and an outline of the specific learning topics to be covered. Part II lists available written learning resources as well training courses currently being offered, organized by learning topic. Part III provides more detailed factsheets and further links to source material.

The guides are part of a series facilitating access to state-of-the-art materials relevant for climate change learning. Additional Resource Guides on understanding the climate change and health interface as well as on integrating climate change in education at the primary and secondary level will be launched shortly.
