In the Peruvian Andes, the rapid melting of glaciers and an increase in extreme climatic phenomena is threatening communities’ means of subsistence. As part of an SDC pilot project, 1,208 families have adopted measures to ensure sustainable management of water resources, land and pasture, and have taken up organic farming.
The SDC is supporting the PACC Project in Perú to secure the livelihoods of poor rural communities, and to strengthen their resilience to the effects of shifting weather patterns.
We invite you to learn more about this initiative and other activities and experiences of the different projects that the Swiss Cooperation – SDC drives around the world in the fifth edition of the SDC Newsletter.
We wish you good reading.
