We invite you to read the first edition of the year published by the WRG 2030, which gives an overview of the actions driven to support governments wishing to accelerate their progress towards national water security.

Highlights of its content include news related to Peru: i) a meeting of the Steering Committee held in January agreed on the creation of 6 new working groups; and (ii) a case study of the Public-Private Partnership for Water System Improvements between the largest gold mine in South America, Yanacocha, the City of Cajamarca and the Water and Sewerage Company of Cajamarca have significantly improved Infrastructure of water supply of the city. The project positively affects more than 175,000 residents who provide reliable water supply throughout the year.

About 2030 Water Resources Group
In 2008, the World Economic Forum, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, The Coca Cola Company, Nestlé S.A., PepsiCo Inc. and the International Finance Corporation, the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group, worked together to establish the 2030 Water Resources Group (2030 WRG) as a private-public-civil society global initiative aimed at mobilizing a broad range of stakeholders, such as the private sector, government leaders, civil society, and bilateral development agencies and multilateral development banks, to support governments willing to accelerate their progress towards national water security.
