The International Seminar “Efficient Production in the Brick-making Sector was held from 8 – 10 July in Bogota (Colombia). It was attended by over 350 people linked to the brick-making sector in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Morocco, Mexico, Nepal, Peru and South Africa.

The International Seminar “Efficient Production in the Brick-making Sector” was held from 8 – 10 July in Bogota (Colombia). It was attended by over 350 people linked to the brick-making sector in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Morocco, Mexico, Nepal, Peru and South Africa.
The event presented issues such as the perspectives of the brick-making industry and construction sector in Latin America, energy-efficient furnaces, barriers and opportunities for changing technology in the sector, experiences in the innovation of clay products and the impact of the soot generated by brick production.
The Technology and Services Fair was held at the same time, giving an opportunity to technology suppliers from Brazil, Colombia and Spain and Colombian loaning agencies to approach the brick producers. The EELA programme will monitor the progress of the interaction between producers, suppliers and the financial sector.
