Integrating climate change management in all government sectors and levels

Renewing Peru’s climate commitment, the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) launched the GestiónClima Initiative. The initiative contributes to concerted action for incorporating the issue of climate change into public administration in all sectors and levels, with a view to low-carbon and climate-resistant development.

GestiónClima aims to strengthen the consensus process with the public and private sectors and civil society. «GestiónClima opens the way to sustainability , competitiveness , low carbon development and resilience . It will take place gradually in national policies and have strategic functions , including coordination , funding and monitoring in order to make a direct to the comprehensive management of climate change contribution», affirmed Manuel Pulgar Vidal, Minister of Environment
