SDC has been operating the project in five countries of the region since 2010. It measures the water footprint in order to assess, reduce and manage water-related impacts, and has a life cycle approach.
In January and March of this year, Lidappy International Consulting S.A.S conducted the independent evaluation of the El Agua nos Une – SuizAgua initiative, to ascertain the initiative’s relevance, its impact as reflected by the objectives reached, its efficient use of resources, the effectiveness of its products, the ownership by partners, and the sustainability of its activities.
SDC is pleased to share the results of the evaluation together with the main lessons learned and the experts’ recommendations regarding the possibility of a new project by SDC’s Global Water Programme.

El Agua nos Une – SuizAgua
The Agua nos Une “Water Unites Us” project improves knowledge about the impacts on water of goods and services production. It encourages public-private liaison for comprehensive water resource management, with the Blue Certificate and the water footprint.
The Swiss government created the project as part of its Global Programme Water Initiatives. Since 2010 the project has been working with the private sector, government agencies and think tanks to promote responsible and committed water management in Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Brazil.
