Swisscontact is the business-oriented independent foundation for international development cooperation. Represented in 36 countries with over 1100 employees, it promotes – since 1959 – economic, social and environmental development. Swisscontact is currently looking for a Country Manager of the Swiss Entrepreneurship Program (Swiss EP) in Peru. The Swiss Entrepreneurship Program aims at strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems in seven different countries (Western Balkans, Vietnam and Peru) by providing strategic advice to local incubators, accelerators, and business angel networks in order to help generate, accelerate and finance growth-oriented start ups.
- To manage the Swiss EP activities in Peru we are looking for a motivated Swiss EP Country Manager Employment
- start: January 2020 or by agreement.
- Contract duration: until 30 June 2023 (official program end)
- Place of work: Lima, Peru
- Availability to travel within the country and occasionally to Switzerland or other Swiss EP countries
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead the project in Peru; responsibility for designing & implementing the country strategy for Swiss EP
- Lead and coordinate the local team (3 people) Identify and select experts to support our partner incubators, accelerators and business angel networks
- Lead and implement the country-specific activities with the support of the local team: plan, prepare and implement assignments of experts with partner incubators, accelerators and business angel networks
- Maintain established contacts with ecosystem organizations, mainly in Lima (but also Piura and other cities as needed), and facilitate collaboration and regular exchange among them Responsible for the country budget and accounting
- Responsible for the monitoring and results measurement, capturing data in the respective system (Salesforce) and reporting of results to SECO jointly with Global management
- Maintain contact and regular exchange with the local SECO office and other important stakeholders
- Coordinate with the global manager and share experiences with colleagues in the other countries, motivate the local team as well to pro-actively share their knowledge through the respective program communication channels Requirements
- 10 years working experience, preferably at least 3 working in a startup or startup support organization Minimum of 5 years project management experience
- Good personal network in the startup/accelerators/VC industry worldwide highly valued
- Leadership skills and experience in working in interdisciplinary and international project teams
- Strong communications skills and ability to facilitate and motivate groups of people
- Outgoing, hands-on and adaptive personality who thinks team first
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
