Workshop on Data Management for Climate Services
The workshop pursues the Exchange of knowledge and experiences related to the provision of high-quality climate services aimed at sectors prioritized by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and at all citizens.
The “Data Management for Climate Services” workshop is aimed at technical and academic communities involved in the generation of national climate services. Methodologies are focused on subjects such as quality control, homogenization, data grids, products and free software use and will include practical examples of climate services implemented in the region. The workshop will also contribute to the permanent improvement of technical and academic skills of the professionals that will constitute a generation network of climate products and services regionally and globally.
The event will be held at the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI) Lima-Peru, from May 29 to June 1 and seeks to share the progress made in the implementation of climate services in the Latin American region and exchange best practices in climate-related methodologies and products.
The workshop will be conducted in two languages and there will be professional Spanish-English/English Spanish translation service.
Participants may register free of charge until February 22, 2018.

About Climandes 2Climandes forms part of the Global Program for Climate Change and Environment of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE). The initiative seeks to provide reliable and timely climate services for decision making in the search of more resilient development in the face of climate variability in joint efforts with the meteorological services of Switzerland (MeteoSwiss) and Peru (SENAMHI) the academy, the private sector and the citizens. It is implemented within the context of the Global Framework for Climate Services of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
