According to the United Nations, restoring ecosystems means preventing, halting and reversing damage, and moving from exploiting nature to healing it. This is why the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) starts today. It is a global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmland, from mountaintops to the deep sea. Only with healthy ecosystems can we improve people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change and halt the collapse of biodiversity.

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) joins the campaign launched by the United Nations in inviting people to reflect on how they can contribute to improving environmental management.

SDC is glad to present its publication «A Breath of Fresh Air», produced within the framework of the Climate and Clean Air in Latin American Cities Programme – CALAC+.
